Every horse, big or small, should have their teeth done at least once a year to keep them comfortable. The make up of their mouth means that the upper jaw is actually wider than their lower jaw, so every time they chew it creates sharp points on the outside of the upper jaw and the inside of the lower jaw. It is my job to remove these sharp points so that they don't cut into the horses' cheeks and tongue. Without regular check ups horses' mouths can also develop malocclusion's, mismatches of the grinding surface, meaning that they cannot eat efficiently. This can result in weight loss, dropping feed and behavioral issues in extreme cases.
All my work is done un-sedated with hand tools. I am very kind and patient with the horses and will do my best to complete any and every horse whilst ensuring that the experience is as pleasant for them as possible.

I am based in the beautiful Wairarapa and cover the Wellington, Wairarapa, Manawatu, Rangitikei, Taranaki, Hawkes Bay and Gisborne regions. 6 weekly trips are made to Taranaki and Gisborne/Hawkes Bay respectively. I will travel anywhere in the North Island with enough bookings made.

I have over fifteen years experience with horses and have trained at the American School of Equine Dentistry, whom promote and practice an integrated approach to equine health care.
